Buffalo One of the brightest minds of any time has passed on. He was awe struck by the magic of life, and in his expression of this he inspired every scientist and science dreamer in a special way that hadn't existed in popular culture since the days of Jules Verne. Besides being a preeminent science fiction writer, he invented the concept of the geostationary communications satellite, the basis of all modern broadcast media, communications, and global positioning systems.

General News Hi all,

Least we find out that fans, friends and attendees were left out in the cold, we the Buffalo wanted to make sure everyone knows that we are currently rearranging our Open Mic Schedule at the Bowery Poetry Club: thus there will not be a Buffalo Open Mic this February 11th. However, all of us at the Buffalo Readings love being able to give free high quality open mics to the denizens of this city and all artistic passer-throughs and have every intention of continuing our open mic. As soon as we have our new schedule arranged, we will be sure to send notice out to all.

In the meantime, let me take this moment to invite you all to a very special night The Buffalo will be doing with FLIP in just a few weeks. Saturday, March 1st at 9:30pm you will find the Buffalo Readings + FLIP playing ALL NIGHT at the Williamsburg Music Center for just a $10 admission. And we will be going until the AM hours, so mark this one on your calendars, tell your friends and come on down for a whole night of Jazz & Poetry!

Buffalo A Night of Poetry and Peoplemusic:
featuring the Buffalo Readings and FLIP
The Bowery Poetry Club
308 Bowery
between Houston & Bleecker
January 23, 2007
8PM
$5.00

A night on the sonic cutting edge with two distinct styles to combine and form something that moves the listener into a new realm of space, mind, thought and sound as poetry and music come together in the form of the Buffalo Poets and FLIP. Not just two distinct groups which can easily hold their own, but two distinct groups known for pushing the boundaries of their respective art forms joining forces to give you a greater experience in an attempt to not just to push the envelope; but to set the entire envelope on fire.

While the Buffalo read their spirit provoking poetry; renowned for its energy, mind expanding speech and occasional side-swiping humor, while FLIP play what they refer to as ?Peoplemusic? a term as non-restrictive as the group itself, not just breaking out of the traditional boundaries of Jazz, but exploring all the different myriad realms of music and everything else in-between. Through mutual admiration & finding of kindred spirits, Buffalo & FLIP unite their mind-expansion, energy, experience, music, sound, word & art into a new creation for poetry and musical enthusiasts to not only sample but to enjoy to levels not previously experienced. Seatbelts highly recommended.
